Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 8:11
“God” is an old German word that means “the one invoked” or “called upon”. Moses was told that “God’s name was “I am“. Jesus called “God” “father” or really “daddy”, a term of endearment, in Arabic, “abba”. Jesus used that name to imply the intimacy we must have with “God” and the reliance on “God” as a child relies on his or her father or parent. Arabic is the language Jesus spoke.
I use quotations marks with the name “God” because that name can be so common that is ignored or used in vain. I use the name, “The Sacred” because the Creator is beyond our comprehension. How can the infinite be described by the finite.
The Bible was written by men and women who interpreted what “God” was communicating to them This video contains terms, ideas, or concepts that are from the author and narrator not from me. You may or may not agree with all his thoughts. Take from it what you believe, what you have come to understand about the “Sacred” creator of the universe. For me, Jesus’ human consciousness eventually united him to the “Sacred”. From that unity, Jesus was able to discern the teachings of ‘The Sacred”. As a Jew, he would have thought of “The Sacred” as “I am” YHWH or as we say “Yahweh”. Remember, Moses was told that YHWH was the name of “The Sacred” never to be spoken. Jews never say or speak the name as it is considered so “sacred’ that no human should speak it.
Jesus speaks the Will of the Sacred. Jesus lived as the Sacred. Jesus was the model of the Kingdom of God. Jesus told us how to live as a person would in the Kingdom of God. (Check out my page about the Kingdom of God.)
